Level Details

The N5 level measures the most basic level of understanding of Japanese. You should know around 100 kanji, 800 vocabulary words, and have a grasp of basic grammar, including particles and verb conjugations. This level certifies that you can understand some basic Japanese used in everyday situations like greetings, simple questions, and short sentences written in hiragana, katakana, and elementary kanji.
